Well, the end of April was crazy too! If you caught our last post, you know that we have been working hard on the park house, getting flooring installed, and settling some things in and in the past couple of weeks we have made some great progress! And, we said goodbye to the Sharon house, turning her over to her new owners was a little bittersweet. We had lived there for 18 years, we raised our kids there, we said goodbye to Logan there, and some of the most fun times I have ever had were had there, it was a truly great home, and I look forward to the memories to be made now in our new home. Which brings me to this month's busy work!
We have a large amount of the great room flooring installed, we now also have the den flooring installed. We have officially moved into the house and are living there full time, shout out to our daughter Brianna and her boyfriend Jake for lending us hand with the heavy lifting! It has been so nice to get everything under one roof again, even if it is all still in boxes lol. We have the furniture settled into one of the guest bedrooms, our furniture is in the Master bedroom of course, the sofas are now in place in the den and great room. And we moved the antique cabinet to the den where it will now become a beautiful display/liquor cabinet, I can't believe how pretty it looks!
Today as I am writing this, we are having the exterior of the house power washed, and the upper-level windows cleaned, which means we can get the entry doors painted, and the sunroom aluminum enclosure painted, they are definitely due for a little refresh! Tomorrow morning our new antique Maitland-Smith bar is due to be delivered, I will share the details on that soon, and the new barstools for the kitchen island should be arriving any day as well, they are stunning, and I can't wait to show them to you too! We decided to hold on all interior painting until flooring is done and unpacking is finished, because let's face it the current level of chaos is plenty, lol!
Each night we set a goal for unboxing, moving, and/or construction and we work hard till 9pm, at which point we sit down and relax before we hit the hay to do it all again! This has been quite the process, and I look forward to seeing it all come together.
As a side note the landscape at the park house is coming to life and my gosh is it pretty! The trees are all blooming, I am especially fond of the pink dogwood tree in the backyard, I wish it could stay like this all season, it is stunning!
Eli had a tough end to April, as he had his vaccinations updated, and went under anesthesia for teeth cleaning and as a 9-year-old pup he had to have a few extractions. He moped around for a couple of days, and we thought he deserved a break, so we brought him along for a night away at the boat! We visited one of our favorite restaurants and enjoyed the season opener at the yacht club. It was really nice to catch up with some of our boating friends, and we plan to head back this weekend to continue the process of stocking and settling in for the season. Unfortunately, our dock box seems to have blown away while we were gone, so we will have to invest in a new one, but I guess that's what we get for not weighting it down with the early Spring windy season in full effect! se-la-vie!
The next couple of weeks will be busy ones, as we prepare for our first cruise out of the season, and make our plans for the holiday weekend, and continue moving in and finishing the flooring at the park house! All fun things that I will share with you very soon! Thank you for following along with us!
