If you saw my last post, then you saw the video on these cream cheese frosted cinnamon rolls. I love cinnamon rolls, they are the perfect start to a holiday morning, and I make them every time, for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, you name it! If we are getting together that day, then there will be some cinnamon rolls out on the counter!

Below is the recipe for these beautiful rolls. Although a little time consuming because of time needed to let them rise etc... it is well worth the effort! Enjoy!

Here is what you'll need:

Dough:

4 c. All Purpose Flour

2 packets Dry Active Yeast

1/3 c. granulated Sugar

1/4 c. softened Butter

1 Lg Egg

1 c. Milk

1 tsp. Salt

Filling:

1/2 c. packed Brown Sugar

2 1/2 Tbsp. softened Butter

1 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon

1 tsp Vanilla extract

additional 1/4c Brown Sugar mixed with 1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon

Cream Cheese Topping:

8 oz softened Cream Cheese

1 tsp. Vanilla extract

3/4- 1 c. of Powdered Sugar

In a mixing bowl add Flour, Yeast, Granulated Sugar, and Salt. Warm the milk to no more than 130 degrees F. Add milk butter and egg to the flour mixture and combine on a medium speed until well incorporated and dough is sticky but can be pinched and retain it's shape. Pour out onto a floured surface and knead for 3-5 minutes, until smooth and springy.

Grease a large bowl, coat dough by rolling in the bowl, cover with plastic wrap or a warm damp towel, and place in a warm place for 90 minutes to rise.

Meanwhile combine the Brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and vanilla in a small bowl and set aside with the additional Brown sugar and cinnamon to use as filling later.

Once the dough has risen, and is doubled in size, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface. Coat with butter and spread Brown sugar butter mixture over the top of that. Sprinkle with additional brown sugar mixture. Roll and cut into individual rolls with a serrated knife. Place in baking pans, cover and allow to rise again for approximately 30 min.

Once risen bake at 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes or until brown and baked through.

While baking; make your topping. Combine cream cheese, vanilla, and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl until desired consistency. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Once rolls have cooled slightly top with cream cheese mixture and serve warm, Enjoy!
