Summer Update!

Well, it has been a few weeks since I last provided an update and so I thought I would share a few of our recent adventures with you!

First of all, if you missed our 4th of July fun, be sure to check out our latest YouTube video below!

Since that time, we have been plenty busy! We made another weekend trip to Put In Bay on the weekend of July 19th, the weather was perfect, and we were so ready to get out on the water! It was a lovely trip, full of great music, sightseeing, and more! I will have a new video out on that soon.

Then we spent a couple of weekends at home getting some work done there. We got the basement cleaned out, and some things stored away. Lots and lots of cleaning. I will do a separate post on the house updates because honestly it has been a lot, and I am excited for you all to see all of the progress!

Early August meant our annual trip to Las Vegas! I love Vegas as you know, and this was a fantastic trip. We had a comped night at Luxor, and then a couple nights at our favorite resort The Cosmopolitan LV.

Over the past 16 years we have never stayed at Luxor, mostly because of its location. It is almost at the farthest point of the North strip, only Mandalay Bay sits a little further down. Luxor though is a well-known landmark on the strip, it is hard to miss a giant glass pyramid with a light beam shooting from the top that can be seen from space, lol! That being said we had a nice stay and although it was a clean and interesting property, I think that the location is still too limiting for me, but I'm glad I can say I have stayed there. We had a tower room, and a view it did not have, in fact probably the worst view we have had on the strip. We could see the portico to the Uber pick up lane, and maybe a tiny glimpse of the desert lol.

The room was clean and comfortable, and also a nice size for a standard room. We had a King room non-smoking. It had a nice seating area, dresser and armoire. The bathroom was large with separate shower and bathtub area, and a double vanity. It had the usual amenities, including iron, blow dryer, and personal refrigerator. The ice maker was easy to get to at the end of the hall, and so was navigating to the elevator. All and all a very friendly layout.

Our check in experience was better than most, and I 100% credit that to the fact that we had the MGM app and could check in on the app. Downside to checking in on the app is you can't make special requests or ask about potential upgrades. Since we were staying for one night we opted to check in on the app, the extensive line for check in when we arrived likely would have taken an hour or more to speak to a representative to check in "manually". I highly recommend downloading the MGM app and entering your reservation information prior to arriving to make check in super easy. If you check in on the app it will send you a digital key card on your phone, if you want a physical key there is a special much shorter line where you can have keys made! Easy peasy!

We spent some time exploring the Luxor, and ultimately decided to make a trip to Fremont Street! We love the downtown area! Its always fun, and lively, and the live music stages make it extra special! We grabbed a slice at Evil Pie, and then made our way back to one of our favorite spots the Whicker Licker Up Bar. This is a rotating bar, and the views and drinks are awesome we highly recommend it!

The next day we made our way down to the Cosmopolitan LV, stopping at all of the casinos along the way! Las Vegas is so unique every time you go you can find something new! And that is just what we did! We found our way to the new Arte Museum Las Vegas this exhibit sits in between the Cosmopolitan and the Crystal shops! It was outstanding! I will also put together a video on this because it is just way too much to cover in writing.

All in all, it was another fantastic trip we squeezed in so much in those few days, and celebrated our 26th anniversary, it was so much fun, and I can't wait to go back! Here are a few pics from our stay!

We spent another weekend at the boat, and then had a semi-staycation to get some things done at the house, and then back to the Bay! We spent a few days on the island after the Bash on the Bay finished up. We had a great time as usual, and even bumped into some hometown friends while we were there! It was a great time!

And that pretty much wraps up August!
