Before I explain more about the Great Loop and our plans for the future. I think it would be fun and interesting for you to see where we started.
July 2021, we purchased our 2000, Bayliner 3055 Ciera. This is a cabin cruiser, with two sleeping areas, a small galley kitchen, and 1 head or bathroom. At an overall length of 32 feet and beam width of 11 feet. This is a lot of boat!
We spent a lot of time getting used to all the in's and out's of owning, operating, and maintaining a boat like this.
We cleaned, and cleaned, and cleaned lol! We also updated all of the electronics, the sound system, the carpets, and Andrew even made a new custom table top for the deck!
We repaired the hinges on the engine hatch, replaced the impellers, and updated the electric head system. Had the bottom paint redone, annual maintenance completed, and dozens of other "little fixes." Owning a boat like this takes a lot of time and patience.
We spent hours aboard and traveled frequently so we could get used to docking procedures, line and fender management, and hailing dockmasters to come into port.
It didn't take long for this to truly feel like our home away from home! We spent many weekends aboard in Port Clinton, OH, and Put In Bay. We hosted friends and family for overnight stays. Went out to sand bars and for long cruises. Enjoying every minute.
At the end of 2022, we realized the boat life was our life. We talked more seriously about areas we want to explore, things we want to learn, and the boat we dream of one day owning! Which brings us to today. I am so pleased to tell you all that we have found a new owner for our beloved Bayliner! That's right, we sold her! It was a tough decision but made much easier after our most recent purchase! The Other Side name is coming with us. And is now on our new to us 2004 Rinker 342 Fiesta Vee! (More on this soon!)
In the meantime, we have removed our logo and cleaned her out. She goes to her new home this weekend. I know that the family who purchased her will have so many years of enjoyment just like we did!
So that has been our journey, more or less, so far! I will introduce you the new boat soon and let you in on our Great Loop plan too! Thanks for joining us! ~Courtney Bailey
